Plastics are a group of synthetic or semi-synthetic materials which are formed from polymers. It can be shaped into objects of various shapes when it undergoes the process of softening and hardening.
There are 7 types of plastics that exist in the world. According to Vincent Chung, founder of social enterprise UrbanR Recycle, there are only 3 types of plastics which are practical to recycle among the 7 types of it.
In Malaysia, there are 3 commonly recycled plastics: Type 1 (PET, PETE), Type 2 (PE-HD), and Type 5 (PP).
